About us

Casa Italia Iași is a non-profit cultural and social-promotion association, established in Romania as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), independent from any political, party or religious affiliation.

The association was founded by Italian citizens and others residing in Iași, united by the wish to put their time, skills and experience at the service of the community. From sharing these values a project is born that places the person, the community and dialogue between cultures at its centre, aiming to strengthen the presence of the Italian community in Romania, foster its integration and contribute to building ever stronger relations between Italy and Romania.

Casa Italia Iași was born from the conviction that a community is built not only by organising events, but above all through genuine relationships, solidarity, participation, volunteering and mutual support. That is why our daily commitment is directed, first of all, to people — creating opportunities for meeting, listening, collaboration and shared growth.

We want to be a true home, in the most authentic sense of the word: an open, inclusive and welcoming place where every person can feel heard, guided and part of a community, find reliable information, build new relationships, share experiences, put their skills to good use and actively contribute to collective growth.

Our mission is to promote Italian culture, language, traditions, values and excellence, while supporting the integration of Italians in Romania and fostering dialogue, collaboration and friendship between the two countries.

We believe integration is a two-way journey. Alongside promoting Italy, we are committed to introducing Italians living in Romania to Romania’s history, culture, traditions, artistic heritage, natural beauty, culinary excellence and territory, helping them appreciate its richness and identity. In the same way, we promote knowledge of Italy — its language, culture, traditions and excellence — within the Romanian community, in the belief that mutual respect is born from knowledge, and that dialogue is the foundation of any genuine integration.

Casa Italia Iași is a bridge between two cultures, built on people, relationships and the will to create shared value. Knowing the country that hosts us means feeling part of its community; making one’s own country known means creating new opportunities for dialogue, collaboration and mutual growth.

The association is a point of reference for those already living in Iași, for those arriving in Romania for work, study, business or lifestyle reasons, and for anyone wishing to be part of a network founded on solidarity, mutual respect and participation.

Beyond cultural promotion, we want to offer a concrete point of listening, guidance and support to those facing a new life journey, connecting people, experiences and skills. We believe a strong community is one where people share knowledge, opportunities, ideas and abilities, helping one another while respecting everyone’s roles and responsibilities.

We do not intend to replace institutions, but to collaborate with them, placing ourselves at the service of the community through initiatives of general interest, cultural and social projects, volunteer activities and concrete actions of mutual support.

Every activity of the association is made possible solely by the voluntary commitment of members and collaborators. Professionals, entrepreneurs, employees, students and citizens freely dedicate part of their time and skills because they believe a strong community is born from people’s willingness to look after one another.

Being a non-profit organisation means devoting every resource exclusively to the association’s purposes. Every membership fee, contribution or donation is fully reinvested in developing the association’s institutional, cultural and social activities, in full respect of the principles of transparency, fairness, responsibility and legality.
